Thoughts about bedazzling…

Via Pinterest, I’ve recenently been reintroduced to the wonderful world of BEDAZZLING!! It’s awakened inside of me a love that was first sparked by the iconic 2006 film, Bratz Forever Diamondz. I wanted to reach inside of that screen and hold those fabulous sparkly jeans in my hands, run my fingers over the intricate sequined designs. So I went to Micheals on a mission. And was met with great dissapointment. They had a regrettable selection of rhinestones, and absolutely no gem picker uppers/wax/flatbacked stones that I was really looking for. They were thinking more “premade sticker decals” and I was hoping for more “crazy lady with a headlamp placing each individual gem onto a coffee mug until 3am”. Luckily they had these fascinating premade kits, with basically everything I was seeking. I proceeded to spend the next 46 hours doing and thinking about nothing but bedazzling. It was so meditative. While I did consume some superb media (16 million hours of Youtube watching other people bedazzle, and Sofia Coppola’s 2006 Marie Antionette - what a YEAR for cinema!) I spent most of the time working in silence. All that is left to do now is wait for my Offical Bedazzling Things to arrive in the mail, and refrain myself from bedazzling my spoons. Oh, the possibilities!
